Horticulturalist Rob Murphy and founding manager of the Matakana Farmers' Market, Barbara Souter saw the need for a 7 day outlet for market produce, to supply quality food at reasonable prices, gourmet grocer basics and artisan foods from Farmers' Markets throughout New Zealand so Market Provedores was created.
Our staff are well trained in providing customer service and are knowledgeable about the products in the store. Winner of the Rodney Manaakitanga Hospitality Award for Excellence in Customer Service, our owner Barbara Souter and our staff put our customers and their desires foremost.

Food Miles and Sustainability - our philosophy
Cutting back on your food miles not only saves petrol and delivery costs, it also supports your local economy by sourcing your food from local producers and growers. Buy from your local farmers market or go to Market Provedores, Snells Beach.
We endeavour to know the provenance of much of our food supplies, how the produce is grown and where, how value is added and how the food can be enjoyed.
You can purchase an eco cloth carry bag, a shopping trolley or a French Market Basket for your shopping. Giving up plastic bags will benefit the environment.

Our Vision
“Our store, Market Provedores, stocks everything gastronomic. Visitors to the shop will find an impressive selection of our own gourmet products, hand made regional foods, and imported delicacies, cheeses, artisan meats and sausages, and take home meals.
We seek out interesting ingredients and products and endeavour to find foods our customers are asking for. They find something new, each time they visit. There is everything from luxurious Italian pastas, oils and vinegars for the connoisseur, to lollies for the kids - young and old.
